How does therapy help?
Depending on your present situation and your reasons for seeking help, there are many benefits to therapy. If you are seeking treatment for a particular disorder, therapy can help you better manage your symptoms and triggers. It can also offer you increased coping skills for managing difficult situations or relationships. Therapy can provide a variety of techniques to help you improve confidence and self-esteem through problem-solving skills, decision-making skills, emotion regulation skills, and interpersonal skills. It can also hold space and support you in exploring your life path and what that means for you.
What to expect on your first visit?
Our first session will be more like a two way interview. I will ask you questions to help me better understand your primary issues and concerns, and you are encouraged to ask me questions about my therapy style, areas of expertise, and any ideas I might have as to how I can help you.
From there, we will discuss what types of therapy will be most useful to you, how often we should meet, and what your scheduling needs are. And at our second session, I will present you with a treatment plan that further solidifies your goals and how we will meet them.
I look forward to getting to know you and helping you reach your therapy goals.
You are welcome to complete the following forms prior to your first therapy session or we can do them together when we meet.
